In addition to assistantships being listed on this page, assistantships usually are posted in professional newsletters, listserves and job websites (e.g., Texas A&M Job Board). If you are interested in finding out if there may be any assistantship opportunities in the near future, we encourage you to contact Dr. Robert Carline or Dr. Duane Diefenbach for more information.
Admission Requirements and Procedures - Prospective students are encouraged to apply to the Graduate School electronically. Consult the Graduate Degree Programs section of the School of Forest Resources website for complete details.
Financial Support - Graduate students associated with the Unit are typically supported by external funds in the form of grants or research contracts. Because Unit staff do not teach undergraduate courses their graduate advisees are not eligible for School of Forest Resources assistantships, which include teaching responsibilities. Fully supported graduate students receive a monthly stipend and tuition waiver. Some graduate students may receive partial support, the amount of which will depend on the nature of the project and the availability of funds.
Graduate Program Options - Unit staff are graduate faculty members in the Intercollege Graduate Degree Program in Ecology. Advisees of Unit staff may pursue graduate degrees in Ecology or Wildlife and Fisheries Science. Prospective students should indicate their graduate program choice on the admissions application.
